Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EMR systems, particularly Eaglesoft and Dentrix, is highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history. Utilize dental technology such as 3D scanners for imaging purposes. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is an advantage. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices is essential. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation is beneficial. Strong understanding of dental procedures, terminology, and anatomy knowledge. Ability to perform medical imaging tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a dental practice setting.
