Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining optimal oral health for patients of all ages. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and excellent communication skills to ensure a positive patient experience. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and EMR systems. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth while adhering to aseptic techniques. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment procedures. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical record documentation, and medical coding. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Manage infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for accurate documentation review and record keeping. Support pediatric dentistry cases with specialized care tailored for children, including pediatrics-focused patient education. Collaborate with dentists in four-handed dentistry procedures to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Monitor patient comfort levels throughout procedures and address any concerns promptly. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines. Qualifications Valid Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing. Proven experience working in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics; prior dental office experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs assessment and chairside assisting effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with team members effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
