About the role: The Orthodontic Assistant is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for providing all aspects of clinical patient care in a professional, efficient, and caring manner. The Orthodontic Assistant is performing a wide range of orthodontic procedures, as well as assisting the doctor during appointments, sterilization procedures, and occasional minor lab work. Must be willing to travel to all three locations: Silverdale, Poulsbo, and Port Orchard. Key Responsibilities: Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating them. Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers. Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system. Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans. Provide patient instruction/education. Provide reports to parents/guardians. Assist the Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures. Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices. Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor, Clinical Lead, and Practice Manager. Qualifications: Dental experience is required; Orthodontic experience is preferred. Washington State Registered Dental Assistant. Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations. Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members, and the community.
