Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures including preventative, restorative and emergency treatment. Prepare clean treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take clear X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards Keep accurate patient records to ensure documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes Provide chair side assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Maintain aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment Calm and reassure anxious patients and support parents Adhere to all safety protocols including HIPAA compliance and infection control standards Experience Previous experience working in pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential. Radiology certification for taking X-rays is required. Certification in expanded function dental assisting is required.
