Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care and assist in maintaining optimal oral health for patients of all ages. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within a modern clinical environment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration prior to treatment Assist with X-rays, ensuring proper safety measures are followed Conduct patient assessments to evaluate oral health status and identify potential issues Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in DENTRIX, ensuring HIPAA compliance Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, providing gentle care for young patients Review medical history forms and ensure proper documentation review before treatment Adhere to dental terminology standards for accurate communication within the team Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations Proficiency in dental office management software such as Dentrix is preferred Experience with medical imaging and vital signs measurement required Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques in a dental setting Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately Prior experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively within a team This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient health while working in a supportive clinical environment committed to excellence.
