Dental Assistant - Sandia Smiles Dental Center - Albuquerque, NM

We are currently hiring for a full time dental assistant to be a part of our family-centered practice on the west side. The right fit for our office and for our patients care is a priority. We are looking for someone who is extremely responsible, mature, respectful, outgoing, friendly and is a self-starter. Pay scale will be based on experience. Applicants need to be licensed to take radiographs and work in the state of New Mexico. The dental assistant will work in all clinical areas of the office to ensure an efficient working environment. Applicants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. Responsibilities Include Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Expose and process radiographs Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Input treatment notes Sterilize instruments according to regulations Undertake lab and office tasks as instructed Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Assist with supply ordering Perform general office cleaning duties when needed or as instructed Skills Required Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like making temporary crowns is a plus Good computer skills with knowledge of Dentrix is helpful Excellent communication and people skills Well-organized with attention to detail Licensed in the state of New Mexico Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 28 – 34 per week Benefits: Health insurance Experience: assising: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: DANB (Required) Work Location: In person
