Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong oral health. * Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection control standards are upheld through proper sterilization, equipment handling, and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office environment is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting practices is essential for success in this role. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus for working with young patients effectively. Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical imaging, and infection control procedures accurately. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and medical coding standards ensures compliance and quality care. Prior experience in both general dentistry settings and pediatric dentistry environments will support your ability to adapt quickly.
