Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic) Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care using appropriate dental terminology Assist with medical imaging and ensure proper handling of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during chairside assisting Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology, including the use of a 3D scanner and other modern equipment Ensure the dental clinic environment remains organized, clean, and compliant with all safety standards Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is a plus Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with pediatric dentistry is desirable; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is advantageous Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Certification or training in chairside assisting, endodontics, prosthodontics, or other specialties is beneficial This position provides an engaging environment for those committed to delivering high-quality dental care while supporting the clinical team through technical expertise and compassionate patient interaction.
