Responsibilities: - Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and orthodontic procedures. - Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use. - Take and record patients' medical histories and vital signs. - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions. - Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software. - Assist with orthodontic procedures such as fitting bands, changing wires, and taking impressions. - Provide infection control by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas. - Take medical imaging such as x-rays as directed by the orthodontist. - Communicate effectively with patients to address their concerns and ensure their comfort. - Collaborate with the orthodontic team to deliver high-quality patient care. Skills: - Proficient in infection control practices to maintain a clean and safe environment. - Experience with Dentrix or Eaglesoft software for managing medical records. - Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and techniques. - Familiarity with taking vital signs accurately. - Ability to handle medical imaging equipment and capture quality images. - Understanding of medical terminology related to orthodontics. - Strong background in pediatrics to effectively assist younger patients. - Knowledge of anatomy to assist orthodontists during procedures.
