Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Back Office Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment. This vital role supports the clinical operations of our dental practice by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring infection control standards are meticulously maintained. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and organized according to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist the dentist during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology like 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following infection control standards including proper aseptic technique and knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Support front desk operations as needed by coordinating appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow smoothly throughout the day. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to dentistry. Hands-on experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing vital signs assessment. Proficiency in using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization techniques and aseptic procedures. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with familiarity with pediatric-specific protocols. Availability : Workdays 3-4 days per week , 3 Saturdays out of the month 9am-3pm and 3 days a week Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 11am-7pm. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification required; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are a plus.
