Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our patients while performing a variety of dental hygiene procedures. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for promoting oral health. This position has a very competitive bonus program. We are looking for a team player with a very friendly personality. We have a great, friendly, and fun team. Hygiene appointments are by the hour and we do require x-rays to be taken for the patients that are due for them. We run very prompt with our schedule and need someone who is efficient with their time to keep this going. We need a hygienist that is very thorough, has their own dental loupes, educates patients, and is gentle with their care. Has a professional and clean demeanor with professional scrubs. We are looking for 3 Tuesdays from 8am-5pm and 3 Fridays from 8am-1pm per month. This position even though is part-time comes with benefits and paid time off. We are looking forward to meeting you. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining good dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a sterile working environment. Take and interpret medical imaging as required, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images. Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety. Provide support in pediatric dentistry by adapting techniques to meet the needs of younger patients. Stay updated on dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix Ascend is preferred. Knowledge of infection control standards and practices within a dental setting. Experience in assisting with various dental procedures is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
