Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Recent or upcoming graduate from EFDA program. The ideal candidate will have experience in chairside assisting, coronal polishing, temporary crowns, dental terminology, and infection control, with the ability to perform advanced dental procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, friendly private practice- supporting general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. The position requires proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take and develop X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Manage patient flow efficiently by performing chairside assisting and providing excellent patient care Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health practices using appropriate dental terminology Assist with medical coding and documentation for billing purposes Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in expanded functions procedures Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray procedures and operate 3D scanners when required Strong understanding of dental terminology related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics Excellent chairside assisting skills with a focus on four-handed dentistry techniques Ability to take vital signs accurately and interpret medical documentation Experience working in pediatric and geriatric dentistry is a plus Certification in dental assisting or related credentials preferred Strong communication skills and professionalism to provide exceptional patient care Join our dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality dental services while fostering a supportive environment for continuous professional growth.
