Hygienist / Sterilization Assistant - American Dental Care of Dover - Middletown, DE

We are an established private dental practice in Middletown, Delaware, seeking a reliable and motivated Hygienist / Sterilization Assistant to join our dental family. This role supports both clinical hygiene functions and sterilization responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations and the highest standards of patient care and safety. Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical & Hygiene Support Assist the dental hygienist and providers as needed during patient care Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper setup prior to patient seating Inform the hygienist or provider of patient readiness and procedure requirements Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization throughout the day Monitor and restock clinical and hygiene supplies Sterilization & Infection Control Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and handpieces according to protocol Load and monitor sterilizers; ensure proper functioning and documentation Assemble and stock instrument trays and cassettes (mirror, explorer, syringe, gauze, etc.) Properly label containers, drawers, and supplies Monitor and manage medical waste and sharps disposal Report equipment or instrument issues to the Clinical Coordinator or Office Manager General Office Support Assist with clerical or administrative duties when required Support the Office Manager and clinical team with assigned tasks Share maintenance and organizational responsibilities as needed Qualifications Dental assisting or hygiene background preferred Knowledge of sterilization and infection control protocols Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude What We Offer Benefits package Supportive team environment Opportunity to grow within a well-established private practice If you are dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about patient care, we would love to hear from you.
