Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient operation within the dental clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history from patients. Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing dental reception duties as needed. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, with exposure to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical documentation and records. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
