Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care while ensuring a comfortable and efficient dental experience. You will play a crucial role in promoting oral health, performing assessments, and assisting in various dental procedures. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs. Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures using appropriate techniques and tools. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist the dentist with chairside procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and documentation review. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional pediatric dentistry services when necessary. Stay informed about advancements in dental technology and practices, including medical imaging and dental terminology. Experience Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with experience in chairside assisting. Knowledge of EMR systems and medical coding is beneficial for effective documentation management. A solid foundation in anatomy knowledge, infection control, and patient care is essential for success in this role. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both medical terminology and dental terminology to facilitate clear communication within the healthcare team.
