Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The Dental Hygienist will work collaboratively with our dental team to ensure a positive patient experience in a professional environment committed to excellence. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper safety protocols. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques, to support the dentist during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations using EMR systems. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to procedures. Support pediatric dentistry services by adapting techniques suitable for children and ensuring their comfort. Collaborate with the dental team on patient care plans, documentation review, and medical coding as needed. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental office or clinic setting is required. Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, medical terminology, and dental terminology is essential. Experience working with EMR systems and understanding medical coding processes is advantageous. Prior exposure to pediatric dentistry and pediatric patient care is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting, infection control, and aseptic techniques effectively. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and infection prevention protocols is necessary.
