Responsibilities As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in patient care and preventive dentistry. Key responsibilities include: Perform periodontal maintenance by removing plaque, calculus, and stains through scaling and polishing Conduct therapeutic periodontal scaling and root planing procedures Administer local anesthesia when indicated Apply fluoride treatments to aid in the prevention of dental caries Review and update medical and dental health histories Perform oral inspections, including oral cancer screenings Record dental and periodontal findings accurately Take digital dental radiographs Document hygiene treatment in electronic dental charts to support diagnosis and treatment planning Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition for dental health, and the impact of tobacco use Maintain effective infection control protocols 3-4 day work week 2-4 years of dental hygiene experience preferred Qualifications Licensed Dental Hygienist (state requirements met) Strong clinical and communication skills Knowledge of periodontal therapy and preventive care Commitment to patient education and compassionate care Benefits Competitive compensation package Continuing education and professional development support Modern technology and equipment Supportive, team-oriented environment SIMPLE IRA Plan with Employer Matching (Offered after one year of employment) Continuing education credits Employee discount Health insurance License reimbursement Paid time off Compensation Salary range is competitive and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
