Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Parttime Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), at Pineland Family Dentistry, where your expertise will elevate patient care and contribute to a positive, energetic environment. In this role, you will provide exceptional dental hygiene services to patients of all ages. Your skills in patient assessment, dental terminology, and infection control will ensure smooth clinic operations and optimal patient outcomes. This position offers all day on Thursday with the potential for half days on Fridays. We are a family dental practice located on the beautiful campus of Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient experience. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and managing medical records responsibly. Experience Proven experience as a registered dental hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic environment treating children and adults. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft for documentation review and medical coding. Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and sterilization procedures. Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health. Prior experience in general dentistry practices will be advantageous for success in this role.
