Dental Hygiene Assistant - Peach Tree Dental - Carthage, MO

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental visit while sustaining patient comfort throughout treatment Prepare operatories by setting up trays with correct materials and instruments. •Assist hygienist during routine dental cleanings, perio-maintenance, SRP treatment, sealants, and new patient exams. Assist in the lab by sterilizing or disinfecting instruments and running routine cleaning of machines. Record treatment information in patient records Performing dental diagnostic x-rays such as bitewings, intraoral, and panoramic. Perform coronal polishing on all surfaces of the teeth efficiently to assist the Hygienist during the patient’s preventative and/or periodontal visit. Take and record medical and dental histories of patients. Provide postoperative instructions as needed. Instruct patients in oral hygiene, plaque control, and sugar management. Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory for Hygiene department. Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the operatory rooms, suctions, evacuation traps, etc. Schedule recall appointments, make any necessary calls to maintain a full hygiene schedule. Apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth. Complies with policies and procedures; OSHA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and HIPAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
