Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing preventative dental procedures, patient education, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care. Candidates with experience in pediatric dentistry, infection control, and medical imaging are highly valued. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, along with familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding, will ensure success in this role. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to prevent periodontal disease Conduct patient assessments including vital signs and medical history review Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining aseptic technique Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Review medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment Provide chairside assisting including preparation of instruments and materials Recognize and respond appropriately to patient needs, including pediatric patients when applicable Ensure proper documentation review and medical coding for billing purposes Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs, medical imaging, and patient assessment Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management Experience with dental assisting, medical coding, and documentation review is advantageous Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and safety protocols This position offers an engaging work environment dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care through professionalism and expertise.
