Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where you'll play a vital role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care! In the correctional environment, youâll work with patients to deliver top-notch hygiene services and educate them about dental health during visits. Your expertise will help us maintain high standards of care while fostering a positive experience for our patients. What youâll do Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments, ensuring optimal oral hygiene for all patients. Educate patients on proper oral care techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Monitor vital signs and conduct medical imaging as needed to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Review documentation and medical records to ensure compliance with dental terminology and medical coding standards. Performs dental services under the supervision of a licensed dentist. Takes medical history and charts Places and exposes diagnostic dental X-ray films. Removes deposits, growths, and stains from the exposed surfaces of the teeth and applies topical agents for dental treatment. Removes cement, places or removes rubber dam, removes sutures, and places matrix band. Performs topical medication, fluoride, and anesthetic applications. ⢠Polishes teeth, including existing restorations. Takes impressions for study casts. Places and removes temporary restorations. Teaches proper hygiene techniques for teeth and gums. Experience A valid Dental Hygienist license is required. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, showcasing your ability to deliver high-quality patient care. Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with chairside assisting will enhance your ability to work collaboratively with dentists during procedures.
