Duties Assist dentist during various procedures including family/general, cosmetic, oral surgery, endodontics, implants, Invisalign, Laser dentistry and SAME DAY Crowns ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral and extraoral images, ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems Open Dental to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, medical history, and dental records. Perform chairside assisting using aseptic techniques while maintaining a sterile environment to prevent cross-contamination. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist with medical documentation related to medical history or dental coding requirements. Manage patient flow efficiently by helping the front office when needed—scheduling appointments, confirming patient details, and answering questions professionally. Uphold strict infection control standards through proper sterilization. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in your state or region. Proven experience working in a dental office setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems like Open Dental. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines safely and effectively. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and dental records management.
