Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques and maintaining infection control standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed Manage dental documentation by updating electronic health records (Open Dental) with accurate patient information and treatment details Support dental reception activities by scheduling appointments, verifying patient insurance coverage, and managing dental records efficiently Perform vital signs assessments and radiographic imaging procedures to assist in comprehensive patient evaluations Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment while adhering to infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge for safe practice Perform required instruments sterilization using Autoclave Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential Demonstrated proficiency with Dentrix or Open Dental Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental coding to accurately document procedures and patient information Hands-on experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other radiographic-dental imaging tools safely and effectively Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry, and sterilization considerations Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to advance their skills in a supportive environment that values professional growth.
