About the Role: PRN Dental Assistant The Dental Assistant plays a critical role in supporting dental professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a safe and efficient environment. This position involves preparing treatment rooms, assisting during dental procedures, and ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for managing patient records and providing compassionate support to patients throughout their visit. By utilizing specialized dental terminology and adhering to strict infection control protocols, the Dental Assistant helps maintain a smooth workflow and promotes patient comfort and safety. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall success of the dental practice by enhancing operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program. Certification in infection control and sterilization procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology and basic dental care practices. Experience using dental practice management software, preferably Dentrix. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a fast-paced dental office environment. Additional training in patient communication and compassionate care techniques. Prepare and organize dental treatment rooms and instruments prior to patient appointments. Assist dentists during various dental procedures by handing instruments and materials as needed. Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are sterilized and comply with infection control standards. Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients, addressing their concerns and explaining procedures when appropriate. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary. Skills: The required skills such as Dental Assisting and Dental Terminology are essential for accurately supporting dental procedures and communicating effectively with the dental team. Sterilization and Infection Control skills ensure that all instruments and treatment areas meet health and safety standards, protecting both patients and staff. Proficiency in Dentrix software is used daily to manage patient records, schedule appointments, and streamline office operations. Compassion and dental care skills enable the assistant to provide empathetic support, helping to ease patient anxiety and improve their overall experience. Additionally, knowledge of body motion and trimming techniques helps maintain physical well-being and contributes to the preparation of dental materials, enhancing the efficiency and quality of care provided.
