Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Buckhannon, WV

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations within our dental practice. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using Athenahealth or other billing software Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems Collect payments and perform medical collections in accordance with billing protocols Prepare and review documentation including care plans, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing records Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and maintaining sterilization standards Maintain accurate and organized dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage front desk operations including phone etiquette, filing, data entry (10 key typing), and office management tasks Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring adherence to health information management standards Support administrative functions such as intake processing, medical office management, and clerical support Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment preferred; dental office experience is highly desirable Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Excellent patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry Previous experience in a healthcare setting This position is integral to providing high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient practice operations.
