Your Valued Contributions: Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. Supports and assists clinical providers and professionals: Prepares exam rooms prior to patient appointments according to safety and infection control protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Takes and records medical and dental histories, and vital signs of the patient. Exposes diagnostic dental x-rays. Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and cleans removable appliances. Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. Provides post-operative instructions as prescribed by dentist. Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs. Records treatment information in patient records. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides administrative support to the dental practice Schedules patient appointments. Maintains clerical records. Maintains proper attendance and punctuality; stays within attendance/punctuality policy guidelines. Special projects as assigned. Required Training & Experience: Word Electronic Health Records system Possesses a current State of Michigan driverâs license and valid automobile insurance. Possesses a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR certification.
