Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a key member of our dental practice, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive dental services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of the clinic. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments or sealants under the supervision of the dentist. Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Use dental software systems such as Dentrix Ascend for documentation review and appointment scheduling. Support infection control protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Take and develop medical imaging, including radiographs, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care delivery in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Ensure compliance with all health regulations related to infection control, medical records management, and patient privacy standards. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Dentrix Ascend for documentation purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Ability to perform clinical tasks including scaling, polishing, taking vital signs, and assisting during procedures. Familiarity with pediatric and general dentistry techniques and patient management strategies for children and patients with disabilities is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about oral health practices. Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous but not mandatory.
