Job Overview Our highly skilled hygiene team is looking for an experienced Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our patient-focused private practice. Unlike high-volume “assisted hygiene” offices, our hygienists see one patient per hour ensuring every patient receives the attention and quality of care they deserve. Your role is to assist hygienists in delivering top-tier clinical and preventive care & not to run between chairs or double-book patients. Responsibilities Prepare patients for hygiene appointments, ensuring comfort and readiness Set up and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials per OSHA standards Assist hygienists during procedures as needed Maintain a clean, organized operatory and sterilization area Support patient education and follow-up care instructions Help schedule hygiene patients and maintain accurate records Take x-rays and otherwise help the hygienists in providing excellent care Experience Minimum 1 year of experience as a dental or hygiene assistant (required) Proficiency in dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality Excellent communication and teamwork skills Computer literacy (experience with PracticeWorks or similar software a plus) High school diploma required; dental assisting certification preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Employee discount Paid time off Work Location: In person
