Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team. This position involves working closely with dentists during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in EMR systems. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care. Manage dental records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient information. Maintain cleanliness of the dental clinic environment to ensure optimal patient comfort and safety. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Dentrix. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and medical documentation practices is a plus. Previous experience as a dental assistant or in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Understanding of dental coding and records management is beneficial for this role.
