Registered Dental Hygienist - Hier Family Dentistry - Caledonia, MI

Overview We are seeking an outgoing, dedicated individual that is passionate about treating and educating their patients to help them achieve a high level of oral health. The position is 2 - 3 1/2 days a week, 8-5 or 9-6 depending on the day. We do have some flexibility with the number of days worked. Our office has been treating patients in the Caledonia/Middleville area since 1998. Our practice is a smaller one dentist office with a fun loving long term staff. We take the time to get to know our patients and work with them to find the best possible treatment options for each person in a laid back low stress environment. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies. Take necessary dental radiographs and intraoral images. Utilize Eaglesoft dental software for accurate record keeping and treatment planning. Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical records management. Stay current with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology to provide high-quality care. Assist with sterilization and general office cleaning and any other tasks assigned by the dentist. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of medical/dental terminology, imaging, vital signs measurement, and documentation review. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds and age groups. Familiarity with medical coding processes related to dental procedures. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
