Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This multifaceted role combines clinical support with front desk administrative responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in medical and dental terminology, and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental practice management software. Prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist during procedures, and ensure all clinical supplies are stocked and maintained according to safety standards. Collect payments, process medical billing and coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and perform insurance verification with carriers such as Medicare or private insurers. Maintain accurate and comprehensive dental records and medical documentation within EMR systems like Meditech, Epic, or eClinicalWorks. Manage phone lines with professional etiquette, handle patient inquiries, and facilitate appointment rescheduling or follow-up calls efficiently. Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry, document review, and maintaining organized patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in billing processes related to medical collection efforts and ensure timely submission of claims for reimbursement. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting with a strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems including Epic or Meditech is highly desirable. . Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per second is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Previous clinic or dental office experience combined with excellent customer service skills is essential for success in this role.
