Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional patient care. You will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. A strong understanding of dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and general dentistry practices is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Assist the dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry tasks, endodontic procedures, and oral surgery including implant placement. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Take intraoral scans using Itero/Dandy scanners. Maintain accurate patient records using Curve Hero and other systems. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as required, including acting as a dental receptionist. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain an aseptic environment. Stay current with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to provide optimal support to the dental team. Required to credential for hospital procedures at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. Experience One year of dental assisting experience is required; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Familiarity with dental software is advantageous. Knowledge of ADA coding related to dental procedures is a plus. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, dental terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry is essential.
