Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance processes with efficiency and compassion. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and proficiency in various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Experience in dental office management and excellent customer service are essential to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing procedures including medical collections when applicable Accurately update and maintain patient records within EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and explaining treatment plans Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent patient service and appointment reminders Process payments, co-pays, and perform basic medical billing tasks using Microsoft Office tools or specialized billing software Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and other administrative documents Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing front desk operations Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and confidentiality policies at all times Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and health information management practices Experience with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or Meditech is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (including 10-key typing) for efficient documentation review and data entry Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical billing is advantageous Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA regulations Exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming environment for patients This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing outstanding patient care through efficient administrative support.
