Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using digital systems on Dentrix platforms Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to promote long-term health Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring infection control and aseptic techniques are maintained at all times Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR), including medical records review and treatment notes Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, utilizing effective communication and pain management techniques Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation review, and scheduling Experience working in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, with knowledge of pediatric-specific protocols and behavior management strategies Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance for patient privacy Skilled in medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate documentation and billing purposes Ability to perform comprehensive patient care including vital signs measurement and medical assessment Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments demonstrating excellent patient care skills We are excited to welcome motivated professionals eager to make a difference through energetic service delivery.
