Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry when applicable, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, documentation review, and medical coding. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Utilize dental terminology effectively during patient interactions and documentation. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when working with younger patients. Operate dental equipment efficiently, including digital radiography systems and EMR platforms like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure the clinical environment adheres to OSHA standards for infection control and safety. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice. Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward all age groups, including pediatrics. Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and documentation review processes. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards for accurate recordkeeping. Experience with dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting and medical records management is preferred.
