Our Auburn, CA practice is looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. 1-2 days a week, The ideal candidate to join our dream-team would be a reliable, motivated, and team-oriented Dental Hygienist who has the capabilities to promote the value of oral health and preventative care. As a Hygienist at our office, your duties will revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth, and working alongside the Dentist to ensure optimal patient care and healthy prognosis. We see clients of all ages and would like a team member who is able to accommodate this as well as build trust with our patient-base. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and conditions. We pride ourselves on providing the most thorough care to our patients and are ready to incorporate a Dental Hygienist who will add to this exceptional standard of care. Responsibilities Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patientsâ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Ensure patients feel as comfortable during their visit Sterilize dental instruments properly & monitor supplies Take X-rays or dental impressions as needed Maintain up-to-date knowledge on preventative, diagnostic, and periodontal procedure codes and associated diagnostic narratives Skills Proven experience and licensure as a Dental Hygienist (Diploma in Dental Hygiene & valid license to practice) In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA, CPR, X-RAY) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills Patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Knowledge of ADA codes and required diagnostic tools associated with these codes Job Type: Part-time Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) matching Employee assistance program Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Application Question(s): Are you familiar with ADA codes and associated diagnostic tools?
