Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic pediatric dental practice. The ideal candidate must love to work with children and have an upbeat fun personality, will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This position requires a strong understanding of general dentistry practices, medical terminology, and the ability to assist with various dental procedures. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and greeting patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient office operations. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is required. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental procedures is essential. Proficiency in using dental software is a plus. Understanding of medical coding and record management is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality is required.
