Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Scottsdale, AZ

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix, preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing patient experience and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays using medical imaging equipment such as digital x-rays and intraoral cameras Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation as a dental receptionist when needed Support the implementation of medical coding for billing purposes and ensure accurate record keeping for medical documentation Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as , Dentrix; familiarity with dental coding is a plus Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Experience with X-ray procedures Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry settings Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about treatments and oral health practices Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Ability to work well within a team environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices Familiarity with dentistry considerations is advantageous Attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation accurately This position offers an engaging opportunity for a motivated Dental Assistant to contribute to comprehensive patient care while working in a professional environment committed to excellence in dental health services.
