Pediatric Dental Assistant – Job Description Position Summary: We’re growing! Our private practice is looking for a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our fun, energetic, team-oriented crew. Key Responsibilities: Prepare treatment rooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and setting up instruments, materials, and equipment. Welcome patients and families, helping children feel comfortable before and during procedures. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field of vision. Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed. Provide oral hygiene education tailored to children and parents, reinforcing the importance of preventive care. Maintain accurate patient records and document treatment information. Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards. Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout treatment. Assist with behavior management techniques to ensure a positive dental experience for pediatric patients. Qualifications: Radiology Certification Experience in a pediatric dental office is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and families. Ability to remain calm and supportive in stressful or emotional situations. Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and child-friendly demeanor. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the dental team. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control. Work Environment: Pediatric Dental Assistants work in a fast paced clinical dental office setting, interacting daily with children, families, dentists, hygienists, and office staff. Our office hours are 7:30-4:30 Monday through Thursday.
