Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Mesa, AZ

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient education, assessment, and treatment planning, ensuring compliance with all HIPAA regulations and dental standards. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and calculus using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and dental health status Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with chairside assisting skills, including four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Review medical records for relevant health information prior to procedures and update records accordingly Follow infection control procedures diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment Support the dental team in administrative tasks related to patient care coordination and documentation review Stay current with advancements in dental terminology, medical coding, and general dentistry practices to enhance service quality Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other EMR platforms Experience using Itero scanner is a plus Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatric patient care is a plus Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and efficiently Skilled in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry including X-ray procedures Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication abilities tailored for diverse patient populations including pediatrics Knowledge of medical coding processes related to dental procedures for accurate documentation review Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information Previous experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments demonstrating competence in dental assisting roles This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing patientsâ oral health outcomes.
