In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Assist dentists with a wide range of dental procedures in a general dental office. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Acquire dental radiographs (X-ray), utilizing advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners when required, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems (Dentrix) to schedule appointments, document procedures, and maintain accurate medical coding for billing purposes. Provide chairside assistance during procedures by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatment. Coordinate with the dental reception team to ensure smooth patient flow from check-in to check-out while answering questions about treatments or billing processes professionally. Support the use of advanced dental technology including intraoral cameras and 3D scanners, to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient education. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilization equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in taking X-rays (including digital radiography), and performing chairside assisting are essential skills for success in this role. Additional desirable qualifications include experience with endodontics, removable/fixed prosthodontics, implant procedures and orthodontics. Certification in CPR and dental radiography is requuirre.
