Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient assessment, and infection control, along with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with dentists to deliver exceptional care while adhering to all safety and health regulations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients. Assess patient oral health by reviewing medical history, taking vital signs, and conducting thorough oral assessments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of maintaining good dental health. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques, including chairside assisting. Utilize medical imaging technology to capture diagnostic images as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all medical records are up-to-date. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in dental software systems such as SoftDent or CareStream Imaging is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus. Ability to perform medical coding and documentation review effectively. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of patient care.
