Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our brand new dental office on a part-time basis. Duties Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment areas by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accuracy and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; document treatment details accurately and maintain confidentiality. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to ensure safety during procedures; recognize signs requiring immediate attention. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices tailored to pediatric or general dentistry needs. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and proper disposal of biohazard materials. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed. Stay updated on current dental practices, medical documentation requirements, medical coding, and relevant legal regulations including HIPAA compliance. Skills Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or RDA in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical records management and medical documentation standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices along with experience working with children is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to educate patients about treatments using clear language suited for all ages. Ability to interpret medical terminology related to dentistry and medicine; understanding of medical coding practices is a plus.
