Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Dental Assistant/Cross Trained (Front Desk) professional to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical dental assisting combined with front desk responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient experiences from check-in to treatment. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in dental procedures, administrative tasks, and the use of dental software systems, all while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information using Dentrix. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and dental documentation. Maintain accurate dental records and documentation. Support clinical operations through four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring smooth workflow between team members during procedures such as prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric treatments. Serve as a dental receptionist by answering phone calls, managing patient inquiries, and coordinating referrals for specialized care when necessary. Qualifications Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting; familiarity with dental terminology is essential. Proficiency in Dentrix, for scheduling, documentation, dental records management. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain treatment plans clearly to patients of all ages. Demonstrated organizational skills for managing multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred.
