Permanent Dentist Job in Stronghurst, IL
Job Title: Dentist Location: Stronghurst, IL, 61480 Wage Range: $162,860.00 - $210,500.00/annually Scope of Work Responsibilities: - Administers local anesthesia routinely and may utilize analgesia and medications when indicated. - Exposes and interprets intra-oral and extra-oral radiographs of the head, neck, and face that pertain to oral health; utilizes this information to formulate diagnosis and treatment plans. - Performs oral surgical procedures to include the removal of teeth, foreign bodies, and anomalies from the oral cavity. - Performs biomechanical services to remove and control infections and to restore form and function to the complete masticatory organ. Treats local dental diseases and oral manifestations of systemic disease reflected in oral tissues. - Recognizes limitations and requests consultation when examination reveals symptoms indicative of disease processes requiring treatment beyond the practitioner's capabilities. - Acts and functions in a professional manner and utilizes knowledge of ethics in the rendering of treatment. - Provides after-hours call per shared schedule and documents calls in patient record. May accomplish responsibilities associated with planning, implementing, and evaluating a structured dental health program designed to meet community needs. - Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications: - DDS or DMD degree from a dental school accepted by the American Dental Association. - Possession of a current, valid license to practice dentistry in Illinois. Or Ability to obtain one. - One year of experience in the field of clinical dentistry is desirable. - Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and patients. - Ability to exercise professional judgment in the oral health care of patients. Ability to actively participate in national, state, and local professional activities. - Ability to consult with appropriate health care professionals. Physical Demands: - The employee is regularly required to sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with the hands and arms, talk, and hear. - The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, occasionally balance, stoop, and kneel. The employee must lift and/or move 10 pounds or more. - Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. - Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Work Environment: - The performance of this job takes place in a health center setting. The employee will be exposed to moderate levels of noise in a moderately paced environment. - There will be frequent patient or client contact over the telephone and in person. - The employee will also work with other EVCHS departments to deliver optimal service and meet health center goals.
