Responsibilities Assist the dental team during exams and procedures, including chairside support for treatments such as restorations, extractions, and sealants. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems, ensuring patient comfort and safety while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems including updating medical history and documenting procedures. Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain infection control standards through proper aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with pediatric patients is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems like Open Dental or Curve familiarity with is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy relevant to pediatric dentistry, and medical terminology related to oral health. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort; certification in radiography preferred. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols in a dental environment. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate children and collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists. Knowledge of medical coding and documentation for accurate record keeping; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential. Join us in creating bright smiles!
