Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Frankfort, IL

Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical billing, and office management systems. Bilingual abilities and prior dental office experience are highly valued to ensure smooth communication with diverse patient populations and efficient clinic operations. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally at the front desk, ensuring a positive patient experience Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection procedures Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries, and provide excellent phone etiquette Collect patient information, review documentation for accuracy, and update electronic health records (EHR systems) such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Assist with intake procedures and ensure all necessary forms are completed accurately Review treatment plans and assist with documentation review for billing and coding purposes Maintain accurate dental records, including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and other medical documentation Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and patient flow Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management systems Experience with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth is a plus Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with insurance verification processes including Medicare is advantageous * Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where your administrative expertise will directly contribute to providing quality patient care.
