Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations while providing exceptional patient service. Looking for someone proficient in DentrixAscend Duties Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in/check-out procedures using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Meditech Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using systems like Athenahealth or Meditech Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing dental office management software and multi-line phone systems Collect payments and perform medical billing, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and documentation review Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Manage incoming calls with professional phone etiquette and handle patient inquiries promptly Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating patient information Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless clinic operations Ensure confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Skills Proven experience in dental or medical office administration, including front desk duties and office management Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes Familiarity with insurance verification procedures and Medicare/Medicare-related documentation review Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing (including 10 key typing) Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and protect patient privacy This position offers an engaging environment where your administrative expertise directly contributes to quality patient care.
