Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional setting focused on delivering high-quality dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the dental clinic while adhering to all safety and health standards. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and scheduling appointments efficiently. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions using appropriate dental terminology. Assist with medical imaging and documentation for comprehensive patient records. Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information and assisting with medical coding when necessary. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is required; familiarity with medical documentation and coding is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging equipment preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical terminology are advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
