Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic, and supporting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring that all necessary instruments are prepared and sterile. Perform radiographic imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records and documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans to promote optimal dental health. Maintain an organized and clean clinical environment by following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history to assist in treatment planning. Collaborate with the dental team to facilitate effective communication and coordination of patient care. Stay current with advancements in dental technology, including the use of 3D scanners for imaging and prosthodontics. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong skills in chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry practices. Ability to perform medical coding for accurate billing and documentation of services rendered. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members. A commitment to continuous learning about dental procedures, technologies, and best practices in patient care. Certification in radiography may be required based on local regulations.
